The Azulik Dream - Tulum

Arriving to the scent of Copal, fresh rose petals and a bamboo built walkway was just the start to the Azulik dream. To then step foot into our first 'jungle set' villa to find; not only an indoor mosaic tub, an outdoor one too. Day one, of course, was spent in the latter - I think I have a thing for outdoor bathing! The following morning I awoke to a glistening pink shimmer, the whole sky was glowing pink - what an alarm clock, it had me out of bed in seconds. Obviously I changed this down to the beach to catch in full glory.

The following day's spent bathing with coconut shells, enjoying the beach bar swings, walking high among the tree tops (coconuts at arms reach) were just as dreamy. One morning we had a Mayan couple ritual performed on us with the Copal, leaving us all zen. The peaceful paradise with it's special touches - just AMAZING!

After hanging out here a few days, already in my complete element, everything was topped with the ultimate Birthday treat... An upgrade to what I can only describe as the most spectacular holiday home I have ever laid eyes on - Azulik's Paradise Villa. A place where I could have my desired 'easy Tulum style' birthday, a place I could happily stay all day long without a worry in the world, leaving only for margarita's from the beach bar. Here I got to relax, enjoy my love, my book and put myself in a total state of relaxation, is it any wonder its such a desire. Pictured above (mostly from this villa) the perfect stay in paradise leaving us itching to go back!

I honestly couldn't thank the sweet staff at Azulik enough for making this stay so special.

Walls around the World - Wynwood

Something I have been missing a lot recently.... A good old TRAVEL post! So here is a little tale from the first stop on this 6 week adventure - Miami - home to the wonderful Walls of Wynwood!

Thanks to the 'Monocle Travel Guide to Miami' we were introduced to this artistic area, with many of the places on our to do list being part of this 'up and coming' neighbourhood. Panther Coffee was high on the list and started off our day just perfect (finally, a good cup of coffee, something greatly missed from Australia)! From here we went off exploring these brightly coloured walls, a street art exhibition from artists all over the world which has become a must see in Miami. Being the wanderer I am, the surrounding area also had to be explored where we discovered that actually, much to my delight, the whole neighbourhood had been coloured in!  The coffee and walls are not all colourful Wynwood has to offer, the day can continue on to some boutique shopping, craft beer hangouts and TACOS, yummy tacos!

She Sells Sea Shells - Gili Air

With this being my first year living the Australian life, I thought it only right I do the typical thing of holidaying in Bali. After waking up in to the many colours of Ubud it was time to take the ferry across to Gili Air, number one on the itinerary. An island that little you you don't have any problem with the fact there are no cars or motorbikes. Only horse and carriage to get you from a to b, or peddle bikes which we decided on as our mode of transport for the daily lap of the island. Absolutely perfect for chill time especially when those blue skies shine through giving back that never ending blue.

Get-a-way - Hunter Valley

Like I've said before I believe it's extremely important to treat yourself to a monthly getaway. Unfortunately I didn't manage one in March and it really did reflect on my mood. So April I'm doubling up, starting with the gorgeously green sights of Pokolbin, Hunter Valley. Akubra hats at the ready! I think this photo diary best shows what these Wineries can really do to you and how much fun you can have, as apposed to the perfectly picturesque sights I would usually post. Our first stop McGuigan's completely had us covered, feeding us with the finest cheese from the onsite shop whilst we enjoyed our wine. Perfect views, flowing wine and delicious food all topped off with the best company. Yep, I think this place did just the job in bringing back such a good level of energy and it's only 3 hours out of Sydney!!

Road Trip part 3 - Noosa

The last leg of this mini adventure, Noosa. A day spent climbing tree's, getting bashed around by the aggressive waves and generally just having the sort of fun you have as a child. These sort of days are always needed, the non serious kind full of silliness. They lift my spirit to the highest and always seem to bring good prospects into my life. This whole trip did exactly that, it was just what I needed to get my head around this new life of mine and set me off to a good start in Australia.
